BEPC is looking for a Research Associate I in South San Francisco, CA to join our fast-growing team of consultants

W2 Contract: 12 months with opportunities for extensions based on business needs and performance.

Pay Range: $34.13-38.13/hr. plus we offer Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance benefits

Schedule: 100% Onsite


Job Summary and Responsibilities:

This position is part of the Pathology Group in Safety Assessment. The candidate will be a highly motivated, independent person that will be primarily responsible in supporting necropsy activities with Safety Assessment. This will include, but are not limited to:

  • scientific observations during gross examinations.
  • weighing, and fixating tissues during necropsy.
  • of study records.
  • control of work and entering data in the department database.
  • study logistics.

The candidate will also be executing and coordinating the logistics of pathology samples for non-clinical studies. Those responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • setup
  • Information Management System (LIMS) data entry.
  • sample handling and shipping preparation.
  • of preserved tissue and preparation for histology processing.
  • or stand for extended periods.
  • performing some repetitive tasks such as block inventorying.
  • working in a highly interactive team setting and as such must exhibit excellent collaborative and communication skills within their team and with stakeholders.

Skills:

  • in a fast-paced, highly interactive team environment.
  • handling and necropsy experience; proficient in comprehensive necropsy on rodents.
  • acuity to see small details during specimen examinations.
  • of operating independently to execute tasks at hand.
  • to established policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, management, and clients.
  • Office and Google Apps knowledge required.
  • technical skills, strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and organizational skills are required.
  • be lifting at least 15 lbs. Work hours are commensurate with business needs.

Education:

  • degree in animal sciences or similar field with a minimum of 1-2 years recent experience performing the procedures described above is required.
  • certification is desired.
