We are currently recruiting a Special Education Teacher for SY 24-25. You will have the opportunity to work in a challenging environment with the reward of impacting children's lives and work with a company that truly cares about having a positive impact.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Special education teachers play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs.

  1. Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs, collaborating with parents, specialists, and other educators.
  2. Assessment: Conduct assessments to identify students’ strengths and weaknesses, monitor progress, and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  3. Instructional Strategies: Design and deliver effective, differentiated instruction that accommodates various learning styles and abilities.
  4. Behavior Management: Create and enforce behavior management plans to promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and other specialists to coordinate support and resources for students.
  6. Advocacy: Advocate for students’ needs and rights, ensuring they have access to appropriate resources and services.
  7. Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices, legal requirements, and advancements in special education through ongoing professional development.
  8. Family Engagement: Communicate regularly with families about student progress, needs, and ways they can support learning at home.
  9. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEP meetings, and communications with families and other professionals.
  10. Community Resources: Connect families with community resources and support services as needed.


These responsibilities aim to create a supportive and effective learning environment that promotes the success of students with special needs.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Special Education Teaching Certification in Illinois / Professional Educators License (PEL)
  • Must have at least 1 year SPED teacher experience
