Job Title: Director of Finance

Location: Miami, FL


Position Summary:


Our client, a prestigious residential property featuring a condo, condo hotel, spa, and restaurant in Miami, FL, is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Director of Finance to oversee all financial aspects of their operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within the hospitality and residential property sectors and possess exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and potential risks. Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present detailed financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Budgeting: Develop and manage comprehensive budgets that meet the requirements of various departments, including the spa and restaurant operations.
  • Accounting Oversight: Supervise and manage all accounting and finance personnel, including management accountants and internal auditors. Ensure accurate and timely financial records and compliance with financial regulations and guidelines.
  • Audit and Internal Controls: Oversee all internal and external audit processes. Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
  • Investment and Risk Management: Evaluate investment opportunities and manage the company’s investment portfolio. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other senior executives and department heads to align financial strategies with business objectives. Coordinate with external financial entities and stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all financial laws, regulations, and company policies.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or Master’s degree in Finance is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in financial management, with a significant portion of that experience in the hospitality or residential property sectors.
  • Proven experience in managing financial operations for properties with integrated amenities such as spas and restaurants.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
  • Proficient in financial analysis, forecasting, and the use of financial management software (e.g., SAP, MS Office).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
