Scott Edwards Architecture is seeking a Healthcare Architect to join our Health and Wellness studio.


Scott Edwards Architecture is a collaborative, people-first architecture firm. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, our award-winning design firm is licensed to practice architecture in Oregon and 31 other states. Our staff is made up of talented, versatile people who enjoy working in an open studio environment that facilitates interaction and creativity. The Health and Wellness studio designs inpatient and outpatient spaces ranging in size and type, including new construction, tenant improvements, and equipment replacement. For this role, we are seeking a self-directed, client-focused candidate with strong leadership skills who is comfortable leading all aspects of a project, from preliminary programming to project closeout. Responsibilities include extensive interface with clients, consultants, and AHJs for a variety of wellness-centered project types. This position’s responsibilities also include internal management of design support staff as dictated by project load. 


This studio is passionate about the work they do, and it shows in the care taken with and precision of resulting designs. Health and wellness serve a vital role in our communities and SEA takes great pride in our contributions to these places—from community health centers to new hospital towers, we have had a hand in many exciting and impactful designs. Only resumes supporting the following qualifications and experience will be considered:


  • Architectural degree from an accredited school
  • 10 years of professional experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience with healthcare projects
  • Familiarity with ADA, OARs, NFPA 101 & FGI for Healthcare
  • Proficiency in Revit is required with skill in Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp preferred
