About the Role


As a Senior Backend Engineer Lead at FINESSE, you will play a critical role in shaping the backbone of our technology infrastructure. This role requires a visionary technical leader to oversee and grow our brilliant backend development team, architect scalable systems, and ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our technology stack. You will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative backend solutions that align with our growth objectives, maintaining high standards for system architecture and code quality.

The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer with a strong track record in technical leadership and system architecture. You possess deep expertise in backend technologies, API design, and microservices, and are proficient in database management and cloud services. You are passionate about building secure, high-performing systems and can effectively mentor and guide a team of engineers to deliver exceptional software solutions. Your ability to blend technical excellence with strategic thinking will be crucial in driving the success of our backend operations.


What We Are Looking For


  • Strong proficiency in backend technologies such as Java, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, or Python
  • Proven track records of leading and mentoring a team of backend engineers
  • Hands-on expertise in API design and development, microservices architecture, and security best practices
  • Deep understanding of database management and optimization
  • Knowledge of cloud services like AWS or GCP
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement within the engineering team


Recommended Background


  • 5+ years in back-end development, project leadership, code review and mentorship
  • Relevant experience in e-commerce, or familiarity with Shopify tech stack
