Our mission is clear: We help immigrants build a better future. It's not just what we do; it's who we are. We are driven by a deep-rooted passion for helping immigrants and an unwavering belief that they deserve a better future.

Our core values guide our every action:

  • Excellence: We strive for excellence in everything that we do. We're always learning, improving, and aiming to be the best we can be.
  • Solution-Focused: We don't believe in problems, only solutions. If we need to create a new way, we will.
  • Success: Our commitment extends beyond our team. We're dedicated to the success of our clients, and we don't stop until we've achieved it.
  • Communication: Open, transparent communication is a pillar of our operations. We have a NO AHOLE policy and value respect and kindness above all.
  • Teamwork: We believe that the best results come from working together. We are a team-first organization, supporting and celebrating each other every step of the way.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced associate attorney who embodies these values and is ready to join us in our mission. This role isn't just about filling a position - it's about welcoming a new member to our team, someone who shares our commitment to excellence, solution-focused thinking, success, communication, and teamwork.

Flexibility and Location

Determining a driving distance for remote work eligibility depends on many factors, such as the nature of the job, the industry, the company's policy, and other specific circumstances. However, a common rule of thumb is if an employee's commute would exceed one hour one way, they might be a good candidate for full-time remote work.

Here are a few things you might want to consider:

Commute Time: An hour-long commute one way, or two hours total per day, is often considered the maximum reasonable daily commute. This is based on general consensus and studies which suggest longer commutes can negatively impact employee well-being and productivity. However, even a one-hour commute might be too long for some people, especially if public transportation options are limited or non-existent.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has 3 - 7+ years of experience in removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Is fluent in Spanish.
  • Is a member of the Alabama Bar.
  • Is passionate about immigration law and upholding the rights of our clients.
  • Is a team player with a demonstrated record of achievement.
  • Is committed to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Is well organized, self-motivated, and tech-savvy.
  • Is able to supervise paralegal staff and manage an independent caseload.

Why You Should Apply

  • You'll be part of a team that values your input and respects your experience.
  • You'll work alongside our experienced and rockstar paralegals, expanding your knowledge and skills.
  • You'll have daily support from administrative assistants, allowing you to focus on the core aspects of your role.
  • You'll enjoy a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
  • You'll have the opportunity to grow within the company, in our legal department or other departments.

Inclusivity

At Solano Law Firm, we value diverse backgrounds and experiences. We strongly encourage attorneys licensed outside and inside of Alabama to apply. If you believe you are underqualified for this role because you lack experience or feel overqualified because you have more experience than we're looking for, we invite you to apply anyway.
