Director of Buying, E-Commerce

Our client, a well-known fashion brand, is seeking a dedicated Director of Buying for E-Commerce to join their team on a temporary basis. This role is set to last around 20 weeks.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day to day business in leather goods – recapping business, identifying opportunities and key actions to drive current business.
  • Manage all assortment updates from recent buys, including delivery/unit/style changes
  • Partner with merchandising team on any promotional lists
  • Manage day to day priorities for Associate Buyer/Assistant Buyer in partnership with VP of Buying
  • Helping recap business and pull analysis for strategic meetings that VP identifies
  • Analysis & hindsight business on the weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to inform future buying decisions and product action plans.
  • Drive the business through a broader understanding and vision of the business, market and industry.
  • Manage cross-functional team relationships on an on-going basis by providing direction on vision, strategy, and meetings to unify team toward a common goal.
  • Communicate product strategies to cross-functional teams in the quarterly Buying Strategy Deck.


Requirements:

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • BA/BS degree
  • MUST have e-commerce experience
  • Minimum 7-10 years in buying on the brand side
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment
  • Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Proficiency with MAC, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Illustrator
