Job Summary:

The Retail Manager for an Interior Design and Home Furnishings Store oversees the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, managing staff, maintaining inventory, and driving sales. This role requires a blend of creative vision, managerial acumen, and strong customer service skills to enhance the store's visual appeal and ensure an exceptional shopping experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Store Operations Management

- Oversee daily operations, ensuring the store runs smoothly and efficiently.

- Manage opening and closing procedures.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing store environment.

 

2. Sales and Customer Service

- Drive sales to meet and exceed targets.

- Ensure excellent customer service is provided by all staff members.

- Resolve customer complaints and handle returns or exchanges in a professional manner.

- Develop and implement sales strategies and promotions/events.

 

3. Staff Management

- Recruit, train, and supervise store staff.

- Foster a positive and productive work environment.

 

4. Visual Merchandising

- Plan and execute effective visual merchandising strategies to enhance store appeal.

- Ensure product displays are attractive and updated regularly.

 

5. Inventory Management

- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed.

- Conduct regular stock checks and manage inventory discrepancies.

- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products.

 

6. Financial Management

- Prepare and manage the store’s budget.

- Monitor sales reports and financial performance.

 

7. Marketing and Community Engagement

- Develop and implement local marketing initiatives.

- Organize in-store events and promotions.

- Build relationships with local interior designers, “regular” customers and community groups.

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably in home furnishings or interior design.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.

- Creative flair for visual merchandising.

- Proficiency in Shopify and MS Office Suite.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
