Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our healthcare team. The RRT will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders, as well as providing support and education to patients and their families. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments of patients with respiratory disorders to determine the appropriate treatment plan.
- Administer respiratory therapies and treatments according to physician orders, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients' respiratory status and response to treatment, adjusting therapies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients with respiratory disorders.
- Provide emergency respiratory care and support during medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrest or respiratory failure.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, treatments, and progress notes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols related to respiratory therapy practices and equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and respect in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the [relevant licensing board or agency].
- Minimum 1-2 years experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong clinical skills in respiratory assessment, therapy administration, and patient monitoring.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
