About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Manager of Regulatory Compliance to oversee compliance activities within our HVAC division. This position will ensure that all products, practices, and facilities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards and internal policies. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in regulatory compliance for HVAC systems, possess strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, and have a proactive approach to problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.



Responsibilities:



Regulatory Compliance Management:

  • Ensure that HVAC products and processes meet applicable regulations, standards, and codes (e.g., EPA, OSHA, DOE, AHRI, and state-specific standards).
  • Oversee the permitting and regulatory submission process, including documentation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Coordinate and lead regulatory audits, inspections, and investigations and address any non-compliance issues promptly.


Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Develop, update, and implement compliance policies and procedures specific to the HVAC industry.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to ensure product compliance from conception through market launch.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes affecting HVAC products and services, and disseminate updates to relevant stakeholders.


Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of compliance activities, regulatory submissions, and correspondence with regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to executive management, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommended actions.
  • Track and report compliance metrics, ensuring ongoing improvement and alignment with industry standards.


Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and internal departments to stay aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the response and communication efforts related to regulatory changes, customer inquiries, and any potential product recalls or safety concerns.


Qualifications:


  • Education: HVAC related field; advanced degree or industry certification (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in regulatory compliance, with at least 3 years in the HVAC industry or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of EPA, OSHA, DOE, and other relevant regulatory frameworks for HVAC systems.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in regulatory compliance software and standard office software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross functional teams.
