Logistics Transportation Planner


Neville Island, PA (On-site)

Asset-based family owned and operated liquid bulk trucking company is seeking THE HIGHEST PERFORMING Transportation Planner for its Pittsburgh location. Will compensate accordingly based on experience. The perfect candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, integrity, and initiative. Will understand and have experience in leading and managing drivers to maximize service and performance as well as communicate well with other terminal locations around the country to support logistics planning in this market. We have the best existing customer base in the country looking to us to expand and support their business in this market as we look to add additional customers that value safety and service. We pay our drivers well and run late model equipment from all our facilities.


SUMMARY:

Efficiently and effectively plan bulk tank drivers and trailers in the northeast maximizing loaded miles, minimizing empty miles while efficiently planning the equipment and driver hours.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Function as a Leader.

Develop a professional but meaningful relationship with the team.

Coordinates activities of operations to obtain optimum use of personnel and equipment.

Communicate and coordinate well with other terminal Logistics Planners to create more efficient capacity with less empty miles.

Communicate timely and effectively with customers

Advocate and maintain commitment to safety by utilizing Target Zero program.

Promote and maintain positive attitude with drivers, staff and supervisors.

Perform all other duties as specified by Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS

3+ Years in Bulk Transportation planning or management preferred.

Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to multi-task and make informed business decision in fast moving industry.

High level of self-motivation.

Efficient computer skills


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree preferred and/or equivalent related experience in the bulk industry.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Fast-paced transportation terminal environment at our office in Lansing, IL.

WORK HOURS AND AVAILABILITY:

Designated work location at office or terminal for an average of 45 to 50 hours per week.
