Job Summary: As the Project Engineer, you will handle the technical aspects of transportation infrastructure projects, focusing on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), and Transportation projects. You will also be responsible for designing, reviewing, and ensuring the accuracy of project plans while supporting field operations and business development efforts.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (non-negotiable)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in transportation infrastructure projects (e.g., transit, highways, arterials)
  • Ability to review, develop, and ensure the accuracy of project plans in a QA/QC role
  • Understanding of networking, Windows-based systems, serial communications, and TCP/IP concepts

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), or Tolling projects
  • Security and network development experience
  • Experience with traffic design, ITS design, and lighting analysis
  • Project Management capabilities and proficiency with Project Management Software

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical aspects of various transportation-related projects that may include networking, design, planning, scheduling, and maintaining projects.
  • Develops plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation infrastructure projects, technical documentation, and progress reporting.
  • Assists with design and delivery of transit, highway, and arterial transportation design or consulting duties.
  • Support marketing and business development activities for ITS, ATMS, and Tolling projects.
  • Review field conditions relevant to the constructability of design elements.
  • Assists with traffic design, ITS design, and lighting analysis and design.
  • Analyze traffic information and develop it into a reportable format for monitoring performance measures.
  • Investigate potential solutions utilizing prior experience, literature review, and product research.
  • Utilizing prior experience, literature review, and product research investigates alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability and implements changes.
