The Family Violence Project VISTA will enhance the current programming for children and their parents residing in our domestic violence shelter by evaluating and revising the project. The goal is to deepen the level of intervention and improve outcomes for children impacted by domestic violence. This will involve a comprehensive assessment of current materials and resources, gathering feedback from clients and staff, and developing a proposal for program enhancements.

Complete a comprehensive assessment of all current materials and resources, identifying key areas for improvement to better meet client needs. This assessment will include gathering feedback from clients and staff and will result in a proposal outlining specific recommendations for revisions.

  • Shadow staff as they deliver components of the current programming.
  • Interview staff and clients to understand the effectiveness of current programming.
  • Analyze the collected data to identify key areas for improvement.
  • Based on the assessment, create a detailed report outlining specific recommendations for revisions and updates to the programming.
  • Present the findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, including staff and leadership, to ensure alignment and gather additional input.
  • Develop a timeline and action plan for implementing the recommended changes, ensuring that all updates are aligned with the organization’s goals and client needs.

Develop a comprehensive work plan to recommend revisions.

  • Identify key tasks: Break down the recommendations into specific, actionable tasks that need to be completed.
  • Set milestones: Establish milestones and deadlines for each task to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify key staff: Determine the staff members responsible for each task.

Pilot the revisions and make any necessary adjustments to ensure ongoing improvement and client satisfaction.

  • Describe the revisions: Create a roadmap for revisions.
  • Develop SOPs: Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each task to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Prepare staff and volunteers: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for staff and volunteers to prepare them for the implementation phase.
  • Track progress: Regularly review the implementation of the revised materials and resources to ensure they are being used effectively.
  • Collect input: Solicit feedback from clients and staff on the revised materials and resources to assess their effectiveness.

Develop sustainability strategies. Train staff for long-term implementation. Establish a feedback loop.

  • Implement changes: Based on the feedback, make any necessary adjustments to the materials and resources to further improve their usability and effectiveness.
  • Create a maintenance plan: Outline procedures for regularly updating and maintaining the materials and resources.
  • Conduct training sessions: Provide comprehensive training for staff to ensure they are equipped to maintain and update the materials.
  • Develop a knowledge transfer plan: Ensure that knowledge and skills are passed on to new staff members.
  • Set up a regular review schedule: Create a schedule to review the effectiveness of the materials and make necessary adjustments.
  • Create a feedback system: Implement a system for ongoing feedback from clients and staff to continuously improve the materials.
