Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with a strong background in application and release management to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mainframe technologies, including COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2, as well as experience managing application lifecycles and coordinating release processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality software.
  • Implement and manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines for mainframe applications.
  • Lead and coordinate releases, ensuring that all aspects of the release process are followed and documented.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a mainframe environment.
  • Provide support for production systems, including after-hours on-call support as needed.
  • Work with business stakeholders to prioritize backlogs and plan sprints/releases.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including change management and security protocols.
  • Mentor junior developers and share mainframe development best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to mainframe systems.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mainframe development.
  • Strong proficiency in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and other mainframe technologies.
  • Experience with application and release management in a mainframe environment.
  • Knowledge of modern DevOps tools and methodologies, including CI/CD principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with modernization of mainframe applications to integrate with new technologies is a plus
