Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

Duration: 12 months with potential for extension/conversion


Job Description:

We are seeking a Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide in-depth expertise in CAPEX and project accounting, as well as costing and statutory reporting. In this role, you will play a key part in guiding financial strategies and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • CAPEX & Project Accounting: Lead the financial management of capital expenditures (CAPEX) and project accounting, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and analysis of project costs throughout their lifecycle.
  • Costing Knowledge: Utilize basic costing principles to assess and analyze cost structures, providing insights to optimize budget allocations and improve financial performance.
  • Statutory Reporting: Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory financial reports, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis and forecasting related to CAPEX projects, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers and operational leaders, to align financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to finance team members on CAPEX, costing, and statutory reporting processes, fostering a culture of financial awareness and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and project accounting, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in CAPEX and project accounting, with a strong understanding of relevant financial regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of costing methodologies and their application in financial decision-making.
  • Experience in statutory reporting and compliance with local and international financial standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.


Education:

  • Must have 3-5 years experience w/ Bachelor's Degree; Master's Preferred
  • Managing construction projects in the medical environment and knows some of the suppliers and requirements.
  • Experience in negotiating pricing and terms, contract review and creation, placing PO’s, and managing invoices from suppliers from a Biotech/Medical Industry.
