Job Description:
The role demands a skilled data engineer who can handle complex data tasks, collaborate across teams, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
• Business Collaboration: Work with the Data Warehouse product owner and Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to understand business needs and user stories.
• Data Flow Design: Collaborate with the Data Architect to interpret data modeling and design ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) data flows.
• ETL/ELT Development: Create and manage data pipelines that move data from various sources to staging databases, applying complex business logic to organize the data.
• Stored Procedures: Write efficient stored procedures for extracting and transforming data.
• Reusable Components: Develop scalable data integration components with features like error handling and logging.
• Data Modeling: Participate in designing data models and schemas.
• Query Optimization: Support and optimize query development.
Qualifications
• Experience:
o Strong background in database development, including both OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) and Data Warehouse/Dimensional modeling.
o At least 3 years of experience with Snowflake, a cloud-based data warehousing service.
o Experience with ETL/ELT processes.
o Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
o Proficiency in source control tools such as Bitbucket, Git, or GitHub.
o Experience with the software development lifecycle.
• Skills:
o Programming: Proficient in SQL.
o Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Communication: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
o Analytical Thinking: Ability to work through complex data issues and make independent decisions.
Preferred Skills
• Snowflake ELT Tools: Experience with tools like dbt or Matillion.
• Data Integration: Experience integrating data from diverse sources, including third-party vendor data and APIs.
• Microsoft SSIS: Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Python: Experience using Python for data integration and analysis.
