Job Summary: The Construction Foreman oversees and coordinates the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and equipment on construction sites. This role involves managing on-site operations, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining project schedules, and collaborating with project managers to achieve project goals.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Supervision and Coordination:


  • Direct and supervise the work of construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as needed to meet deadlines.


  1. Project Management:


  • Assist in planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, including updates on work completed and upcoming activities.
  • Ensure that all materials and equipment are available when needed and properly maintained.


  1. Quality Control:


  • Ensure that all work is performed according to established standards, specifications, and codes.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure it meets quality standards and make corrections as necessary.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety checks.


  1. Safety and Compliance:


  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all site workers adhere to safety standards.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Report and document any safety incidents or accidents promptly.


  1. Communication:


  • Serve as the primary point of contact between construction workers, subcontractors, and project managers.
  • Communicate project details, plans, and instructions clearly to all team members.
  • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site.


  1. Documentation and Reporting:


  • Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and equipment use.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports on project status, including any delays or changes to plans.
  • Ensure that all necessary permits and documentation are in place and up to date.


Qualifications:


  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in construction management is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a construction foreman or in a similar supervisory role in the construction industry.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project management.
  • Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.


Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
