We're on the lookout for an experienced General Counsel to become an integral part of our vibrant team. As the General Counsel, you'll be instrumental in providing legal expertise and strategic guidance to advance our business goals.


Your main duties will involve:

- Offering specialized legal advice and guidance concerning health insurance regulations, compliance, and risk management.

- Devising and executing strategies to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines, state regulations, and industry standards.

- Overseeing legal aspects of corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and strategic alliances.

- Handling litigation matters and fostering relationships with external legal representatives.

- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address legal issues and mitigate risks.

- Keeping up-to-date with regulatory changes and emerging legal trends affecting the health insurance sector.

- Demonstrating strong communication skills, including the ability to convey legal concepts to non-legal colleagues.

- Supervising the Compliance Director and their team to ensure company-wide adherence to compliance standards.

- Reporting directly to the CEO and/or executive leadership.

- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various contracts, including those with insurance carriers, agents, and strategic partners.


Requirements:

- Possession of a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the state bar.

- At least 5 years of legal practice experience, preferably with a focus on health insurance or healthcare law.

- Familiarity with the Department of Insurance and Department of Financial Services.

- Strong business acumen with the ability to grasp and navigate complex business issues.

- Proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel to senior executives.

- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

- Preferably knowledgeable about CMS Compliance, HIPAA regulations, and other relevant healthcare compliance standards.


Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary starting at $200,000 annually, along with bonuses based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
