Purpose: Supervises the daily activities of the Electronics Assembly Department to meet production, quality, cost reduction, training, and maintenance targets



Primary responsibilities:

· Production of electronic products to ensure sufficient inventory to meet demand and stocking quantities.

· Daily Electronics Assembly crew supervision, training, and mentoring

· Responsible for maintaining accuracy of department inventory system within 1%

· Use Requisition System to communicate inventory needs to Purchasing Department

· Serves as supervisor for SMT and through hole electronics and manufacturing processes.

· Constant process improvement to lower production costs

· Management and measurement of EA quality

· Management of EA training

· Maintenance of capital equipment

· Maintenance of records and department infrastructure

Representative Responsibilities:

· Management Responsibilities

o Ensure that all employees are properly trained and developed to CTI standards.

o Manage and direct daily workflow with proper utilization and efficiency of resources.

o Able to manage the flow of paperwork through the department accurately on time.

o Able to perform work and lead by example of CTI company culture.

o Participates in on-going continuous improvement/management training.


· Responsible for planning and prioritizing production and managing the daily activities of the workforce.

o Ensures priorities are met and jobs are completed on time, on budget, and of the highest quality.

o Organizes and prioritizes daily workload for employees. Requests more resources when required.

· Ensures all products produced in the department are built to standards and specifications.

o Communicates identifiable problems to management when they arise.

o Maintains and oversees quality procedures and practices.


· Manages preventive and periodic maintenance on all EA machinery, tools, and test equipment.

o Ensure all spare parts and maintenance materials are in stock.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Knowledge of company policies

· Able to interpret and follow assembly drawings or schematics and wiring diagrams.

· PCB skills

· Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.


Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or its equivalent, 4-6 years of electronics assembly/fabrication experience and 2-4 years of supervisory experience

· Associates degree in Business Administration/Operations Management or other similarly related degree, 3-5 years of electronics assembly/fabrication experience and 1-3 years of supervisory experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Operations Management or other similarly related degree, 1-3 years of electronics assembly/fabrication experience and 0-1 years of supervisory experience

· Background or working knowledge of purchasing, production control and engineering helpful o Develops and implements preventive and periodic maintenance procedures and schedules.

o Responsible for tracking maintenance of all the equipment and machinery

o Maintains assembly department capital equipment log.

· Oversees PCBA manufacturing operations.

o Trains and supervises SMT and Thru-Hole operators.

o Maintains automated assembly and soldering procedures and documentation.

o Continuously develops new skills and knowledge to support and enhance PCBA manufacturing.

· Enters serial numbers and maintains manufacturing records.

· Continuously develops new skills and knowledge to support and enhance electronics manufacturing.

· Participates in the recruitment and hiring of employees and assists in the interview process as needed.

· Develops and administers employee training programs.

o Trains the workforce in the use of machines, equipment, tools, fixtures, and procedures

o Maintains & updates training records for department.

· Performs evaluations of EA Department staff

o Prepares Assemblers performance evaluations per the CTI performance evaluation program.

o Meets regularly with reports and provides regular feedback on their performance.

o Participates in the administration and enforcement of company policies and communicates policies to employees.

· Monitors and documents direct report HR issues with the supervision and support of the Head of Manufacturing

· Provides support and backup of manufacturing managers when other managers are out.
