JOB SUMMARY

Provides maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and service for a fleet of flight school training aircraft and occasionally general aviation aircraft not affiliated with the flight school. All the flight school aircraft are

late Cessna 172S and Piper Seminole models with the latest Garmin G1000 avionics. The Technician will maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Will be expected to help maintain shop equipment, upkeep of the maintenance shop area, and hangar. May have to assist flight instructors and/or students moving aircraft, towing, and taxing aircraft. May be asked to help with improvements of the shop whether it be setting up more shop equipment, organizing parts, packing, and shipping parts. May be asked to run errands to pick up supplies or parts. Duties also include but are not limited to:


  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all flight school aircraft, customer aircraft and components as assigned in accordance with FAA regulations, and current aircraft maintenance manuals.
  • Perform inspection of maintenance and discrepancy corrective action as assigned.
  • Proper execution of inspection and maintenance records reports and/or forms in accordance with FAR Part 43.
  • Ensure that only serviceable and airworthy approved parts are installed as part of the maintenance performed.
  • Have the ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and airframe systems.
  • Build up components for future use.
  • Inform DOM of any unusual situations.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the hangar, tools, and shop equipment.
  • Complies with Company policies and procedures.
  • Must be familiar with current FAA Regulations and OEM publications and shall perform duties in accordance with all
  • established policies and procedures as contained within these and other documents.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Must be comfortable to write and sign off aircraft maintenance logbook entries with your signature and A&P
  • number after performing inspections/maintenance.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB:

  • This job requires 0-50% writing and reviewing documents and manuals. Requires 25-100% standing, kneeling, bending, climbing, and reaching to perform as an Aircraft Technician. It demands mental concentration and the ability to work
  • in a team environment with fellow coworkers. Flexibility is required to allow for unexpected schedule changes. Must
  • be able to lift to 60 lbs. Working indoors/outdoors in high temperatures is required from time to time. Travel to other destinations may be required from time to time to perform maintenance on company and customers aircraft due to unscheduled maintenance events.


CONTACTS WITHIN/OUTSIDE ORGANIZATION:

  • Interacts daily with co-workers in discussing aircraft issues as well as flight operation personnel, administrative personnel, customers, and students.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Must be able to use basic hand and shop equipment. Previous experience in the maintenance / repair of machinery, aircraft, or other vehicles a plus.


MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Completion of an Airframe and Powerplant program. Possess a FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate. High school diploma or GED required, completion of some college a plus. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.


MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must have technical knowledge in all areas of aircraft maintenance. Must be able to interact with colleagues both orally and in writing. Must be able to adhere to the expectation standards of this position. Computer knowledge skills are required. Must be able to view and use tablets in performance of job duties.


OTHER:

  • A positive attitude and professional appearance are essential. Must be able to legally work in the United States and be at least 18 years of age. Must pass a FAA required drug test and background check. Provide your own transportation to work is required. Company will provide some tools. The technician will be expected to build their own tool set. Company shirts will be provided. Must maintain and enforce a policy of personal decorum and demeanor which ensures a positive company image in a team environment.
