Test Engineer-Suspension

What you will be doing:

The primary responsibilities for the Suspension Ride Development Technician is to engage in, and support all customer ride tuning activities, by virtue of timely preparation of all necessary prototype dampers when required by the Vehicle Dynamics tea m.

  • Assist the Team Manager in supporting various suspension module programs (may include customer visits, coordination/tracking ...etc.)
  • Assist Senior Validation/Tuning Engineer in vehicle ride development
  • Responsible for management and maintenance of test lab facilities including all safety precautions
  • Responsible for management and maintenance of appropriate test lab facilities, including testing capacity & associated schedule(s)
  • Primary representative/interface regarding test lab activities & expectations
  • Assist in coordinating program launch plan activities with Korean counterparts; test support plan(s)
  • Identify and communicate (internally) obstacles and bottle necks in the proper execution of test lab functions
  • Develop action plans on issues and items that fall outside of the testing plan
  • Support vehicle ride development by coordinating DSS / Damper testing / validation
  • Assist Engineers in the developing and performing test capabilities at the Hyundai Testing Center(Hatchi)

What you will need to be successful:

Essential:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical Field
  • 2+ years in Testing of Suspension/Chassis, or 10 or more years of experience as automotive technician or senior mechanic

Technical Competencies:

  • Good understanding of suspension systems geometry and fundamental hydraulics operations
  • Ability to coordinate goals and objectives as they relate to suspension programs
  • Ability to establish and track validation plans for design and production level systems – root-cause solutions for engineering/technical issues relative to suspension
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment, often under time constraints
  • Strong communication skills a must
