The Purchasing Planner is responsible for creating and managing manufacturer orders in response to requests from material planners and analysts. This role involves collaborating with the warehouse team to address and prioritize escalated customer backorders and reviewing invoices for discrepancies before scheduling payment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities (90% of Job):

• Generate manufacturer orders and transfer tickets for necessary manufacturing operations.
• Coordinate with Production Control to establish the correct sequencing and prioritization of manufacturing processes.
• Process local purchase requests and orders.
• Verify and validate vendor invoices before submitting them to the Finance department.
• Collaborate with the CN Buying team to resolve discrepancies in purchase orders, sales orders, and invoices.

Warehouse Efficiencies (5% of Job):

• Foster a positive work environment with open feedback and effective communication.
• Ensure warehouse processes are organized and operate smoothly at all times.

Team Building/Leadership (5% of Job):

• Maintain a positive work environment that supports the company's culture.
• Promote a healthy and safe workplace, focusing on the well-being of all associates.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant experience preferred.

Essential Skills:

• Ability to analyze and manage large data sets.
• Strong interpersonal skills for establishing positive internal relationships.
• Capability to work independently and follow direction.
• Proven track record in supply chain and materials management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes.
• Experience with ERP and forecasting systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and self-motivational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
