As a Planner at Effy Jewelry, you will play a vital role in our retail company's merchandise planning and forecasting processes. Working closely with the planning Director, you will assist in developing effective strategies to optimize inventory levels, maximize sales, and ensure profitability. The Planner will be expected to meaningfully contribute to broader strategic and resource planning conversations across the company, identifying and communicating sales and inventory opportunities and providing risk-mitigation recommendations.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of merchandise plans in line with the company's overall sales and inventory goals. Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, and promotions to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with the Planning and Merchandising team to analyze historical data, current trends, and market insights to accurately forecast product demand.
  • Play an active role in creating and maintaining accurate merchandise forecasts, incorporating factors such as seasonal trends, customer preferences, and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Buying, Marketing, Allocations, and Finance, ensuring effective communication and coordination of merchandise plans.
  • Assist in developing and implementing inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Create and publish ad hoc analyses and special projects as assigned by the Planning Director to react to current or future business needs and provide valuable insights for decision-making.
  • Participate in merchandise planning meetings, providing input on product performance, assortment strategies, and inventory allocation.
  • Act as an expert on cross-functional projects to drive overall efficiency. Projects include process and data improvements, reports, and tools to increase productivity.
  • Owns top-down targets by door to inform sales and inventory allocation strategies that support the channel’s financial objectives, leveraging current store trends to guide future investments.
  • Deliver consistent and compelling business updates that provide concise analysis regarding store performance, facilitating timely decision-making with highlights on risks and opportunities.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Fashion-Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven recommendations.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in retail planning, buying, merchandising, or inventory management within the Fashion/Jewelry industry is preferred.
  • Must have expert Excel skills and experience building data models in Excel. Must have experience working with Power BI.
  • Expert understanding of retail math with the ability to use business results and metrics to drive action plans that benefit growth and mitigate risks.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and effective communication skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle tight deadlines.
  • Individual with an analytical mindset and a strong understanding and interest in industry knowledge that enables data-driven decisions. Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
