We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Certified Coder to join our team. As a
Certified Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding and billing processes
within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical
terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Review medical documentation to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes according to ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and other coding guidelines.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, CMS, and other relevant regulations.
  • Abstract pertinent information from medical records for coding purposes.
  • Resolve coding-related denials and discrepancies by collaborating with healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on changes to coding guidelines, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Provide coding education and training to healthcare providers and staff as needed.
  • Participate in coding audits and quality assurance activities to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical coding standards.
  • Collaborate with billing and reimbursement teams to ensure accurate claims submission and reimbursement.
Requirements:
  • Certified Coding credential (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA) from AAPC or AHIMA.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding principles.
  • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare coding role is preferred but not required.
