Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Marketing Science to work as part of an agile consulting team to do data ingestion from multiple media and POS sources and run our proprietary modeling software.


  • Candidate should have been exposed to media data such as that supplied by Google (You Tube), Facebook, Direct and Programmatic/Addressable digital media, as well as Linear TV (such as supplied by AC Nielsen or Kantar). Familiarity with basic advertising formats in search, display, and video as well as Google Analytics or Google Ads Data Hub a plus.
  • The candidate will communicate with clients and their ad agencies around data gathering, will pay attention to details, and check for errors and inconsistencies, etc.
  • The position requires the breadth to switch between manual text processing of campaigns, assisted by Excel pivot tables or Tableau, and programmatic solutions when possible. The candidate may also need to manage staffers to do the manual processing.
  • Primary responsibilities include data processing (50%), preparing visualizations and data reviews (25%), and running models and interpreting results (25%).
  • Candidate must be competent in Python/R to do data processing and run the proprietary software. Candidate will also set up dataloads into our Optimetry™ optimization software and assist clients and our directors in running scenarios.
  • To be successful, the candidate must have a demonstrated track record of taking the initiative, diving into the details, and problem-solving, all while working in a team setting.
  • The successful candidate should be passionate about discovering new insights, learning new things, using big data technologies, automating their workflow and able to work with minimal supervision


Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Math, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science) plus at least 3 years experience in a commercial setting is ideal. We would also consider a non-technical degree or a 2-year degree with significant, demonstrable experience processing media or POS data. An MA/MS degree might also be considered with the right practical background and expectations.
  • 3+ years of work experience doing quantitative data analysis; media analytics a plus
  • Competent in R and/or Python, Excel (pivot tables)
  • Exposure to predictive models for marketing mix, pricing/promo or forecasting a plus
  • Desire to help the team deliver insights and recommendations to clients
  • Data wrangling with SQL programming language.
  • Data visualization with BI tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Good written and verbal English is required. The candidate must understand advertising language and be able to differentiate subtleties of phrasings, word truncations, acronyms, etc.
  • Ability to commit to and adhere to structured timelines

  • Desire to learn new things and adopt a mentality of continuous improvement over time
