WHOM WE SEEK:

The Assistant to Advancement will provide administrative support for Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church’s (SMAA) fundraising efforts, including annual, capital, and planned giving. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the position is responsible for assisting with the donor database management, reporting, sending thank you notes and other donor correspondence, and related duties to support an increase in SMAA’s engaged donor pipeline and the achievement of departmental campaign goals.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Ability to work with the donor management software, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the database

·        Support preparation of best-in-class cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship materials, including timely gift acknowledgements and other donor correspondence

·        Create queries, exports, and reports (including document presentation and formatting) as requested

·        Assist with the scheduling of individual donor meetings as well as group cultivation and stewardship events

·         Oversee and manage smaller, seasonal fundraising projects such as holiday flower memorials

·        In collaboration with the Communications Department, support the creation of targeted lists and calendared communications for e-newsletters and print mailings, aligned with overall advancement strategies

·        Manage administrative planning for donor events, including catering, invitations, guest lists; provide data insight on event response and attendance

·        Assist in managing department inventory, including collateral packets, correspondence stock, and event materials.

·        Assist in implementing staff-wide culture of giving


·        Support SMAA activities and events as needed, occasionally to include nights and weekends; reliable transportation required

·        Proficient with all software programs in Microsoft 365, particularly Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel

CORE COMPETENCIES:

·        Strong 5-7 years of administrative experience

·        Excellent experience with creating reports, including report layout and formatting, thank you letters and related correspondence with donors

·        Strong attention to detail, especially in proofreading and formatting reporting documents
