Be a part of something extraordinary Camp Sewataro is seeking an energetic, passionate and dedicated individual who loves working with children ages 6 - 14 to lead our Adventure Challenge program

Camp Sewataro Adventure Challenge program operates 27 activity periods/week and sees campers ages 6-14. Elements include a high ropes course, zip line, low rope elements, and climbing wall.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about adventure/challenge and possess the desire to educate and instill an appreciation of the activity. Must be able to explain and demonstrate belay, climbing, knot tying, movement/foot placement, route selection, spotting, and use of harnesses.

Desired Qualifications:

Required:

  • Adventure Challenge Training
  • Adventure Training Level 1 (If needed, training to be paid for by camp)
  • Adventure Training Level 2 (If needed, training to be paid for by camp)
  • CPR certification

Preferred:

  • Teaching certification
  • Experience teaching/coaching adventure/challenge programs and experience with classroom management is desired.

Job Responsibilities

  • Attend pre-camp training and planning meetings with Directors/your Supervisor.
  • Submit a syllabus/plan for the eight weeks of camp based on your weekly schedule.
  • Follow Sewataro’s pin reward system and use other forms of positive reinforcement.
  • Maintain the activity area, equipment, and storage areas. Continually check equipment for need of repairs or replacement of supplies. Perform a thorough equipment check at the end of each two week session.
  • Create a team atmosphere with the Adventure Challenge Assistants and set clear expectations and tasks. Provide feedback as appropriate.

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM, Monday - Friday

Camp Season: June 24-August 16, 2024 with pre-camp training days in June (No camp Thursday, July 4th)
