  • Proactively manage and optimize multiple database platforms and their associated operating system environments
  • Tune database performance and optimize query efficiency
  • Set up, maintain, and manage both production and non-production databases
  • Perform database backups, restores, log shipping, mirroring, replication, and related tasks
  • Collaborate with the system engineering team to install, configure, and optimize database servers, as well as conduct system performance tuning and capacity planning
  • Work closely with development teams on database design, implementation, and performance optimization
  • Address production and business-critical issues and requirements in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Over 5 years of experience in Oracle database engineering in a production environment
  • Over 5 years of experience in PostgreSQL database engineering in a production environment
  • Strong proficiency in UNIX/Linux systems
  • Experience with clustering, replication, and mirroring is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of database performance tuning and configuration tools
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills are essential
  • Knowledge of SAN (Storage Area Network) is a plus
  • Proficient in T-SQL or PL/SQL
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, InfluxDB, or MySQL is a plus
  • Proven ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize multiple tasks and projects, and manage pressure
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate across departments
  • Quick to learn new technologies and adapt to changing work environments
  • Strong understanding of and ability to adhere to SDLC, source control, and change management processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
