We are seeking a skilled Funeral Director/Embalmer to uphold their tradition of exceptional service.
Role Overview: As a Funeral Director/Embalmer, you will be an integral part of the team, responsible for managing funeral services, performing embalming procedures, and providing support and guidance to grieving families. This role requires a unique blend of technical skill, emotional intelligence, and a deep sense of empathy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Funeral Coordination: Plan, organize, and direct funeral services, ensuring all details are handled with precision and care.
- Embalming and Preparation: Perform embalming, restorative art, and other preparation techniques to ensure the deceased is presented in a dignified manner.
- Family Assistance: Support families through the funeral planning process, offering compassionate guidance and assistance with decisions and necessary documentation.
- Community Involvement: Act as a representative of our funeral home in the community, participating in local events and outreach to build positive relationships.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations related to funeral services and embalming. Ensure dual licensing in South Carolina and Georgia, or obtain necessary licensing through reciprocity.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a two-year college degree or specialized education program in mortuary science at a trade school.
- Experience: At least one year of experience as a Funeral Director/Embalmer.
- Licensing: Dual funeral director/embalming licensing in South Carolina and Georgia, or the ability to obtain such licensing through reciprocity.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion.
- Requirements: A valid driver’s license.
