Job Title: Licensing Specialist - Food & Beverage

Location: Denver, Colorado (Hybrid schedule available after initial in-office period)

Type: Contract through Dec 31, 2024

Compensation: $30/hr - $65/hr


Position Overview:

We are urgently seeking a Licensing Specialist to assist the Licensing/Permitting team of a fast-growing, well-established company in the food service industry. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate licensing and permit renewals for restaurant locations nationwide, with a major focus on meeting end-of-year deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and organize records of licenses and permits for all restaurant locations.
  • Process invoices both online and manually, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Submit check requests to the accounting team for approval.
  • Request and track certificates of insurance from the risk management team.
  • Contact stores for copies of certificates and licenses to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate and schedule inspections for various permits.
  • Call relevant agencies to gather information related to permit renewals.
  • Open and distribute incoming mail, ensuring it’s directed to the respective restaurants.
  • Email or mail licenses to stores and renewals to appropriate agencies.
  • Primarily focus on liquor licenses, food inspection licenses, building permits, and other permits as needed.
  • Assist the Licensing Specialist with tasks, deadlines, and catch-up projects to ensure all licenses and permits are filed before the end of the year.


Qualifications:

  • Required Experience: Previous experience in filing permits and licenses, ideally in the food service industry.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of tasks with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience working under tight deadlines, especially with year-end filing requirements.
  • Must be able to take direction and work closely with the Licensing Specialist.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as an attorney with licensing and permitting knowledge or as a paralegal is a plus (but not required).
