Virtu is seeking an experienced DRT/CT Technologist to deliver comprehensive diagnostic radiologic services for the White River Junction VA Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DRT/CT procedures, possess an in-depth understanding of advanced radiologic applications, and demonstrate a commitment to patient care and safety. This role involves conducting diagnostic exams, preparing and administering contrast materials, and operating imaging equipment with precision and safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and oversee the operation of DRT/CT equipment, including general diagnostic and computed tomography exams, fluoroscopy, angiography, and other imaging procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast materials under radiologist supervision; ensure a thorough understanding of contrast material safety and usage.
  • Conduct radiology exams with a focus on quality and patient safety, recording radiation doses and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Assist radiologists in specialized procedures, such as interventional CT and CT angiography, ensuring sterile techniques and patient safety.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot imaging equipment, adhering to safety protocols and infection control practices.
  • Accurately interpret radiology requests, maintain patient records in computerized systems, and manage data input and exam registration.
  • Work with the Radiology team to prioritize and manage exam schedules, accommodating emergency cases as necessary.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in advanced DRT/CT applications.
  • Knowledge: Proficient in anatomy, physiology, and the impact of medical and surgical diseases on imaging; skilled in adjusting technical factors for optimal imaging results.
  • Certification: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification, with additional certification in Computed Tomography (CT).
  • Skills: Technically proficient, with fluency in English (written and verbal). Familiarity with CPRS and PACS systems for order entry and image management.


Hours of Operation:

The contractor will work full-time on a compressed evening and overnight schedule, subject to adjustments based on WRJ VAMC Radiology Chief’s needs. Current tour includes night shifts over a biweekly rotating schedule, including weekends.
