Woodland Country Day School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Spanish to teach students from PreK through 8th grade. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the Spanish language, cultural engagement, and the ability to create an inclusive, dynamic, and engaging classroom environment for young learners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish to students from PreK through 8th grade.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
  • Foster a love of language learning and cultural awareness in students.
  • Provide a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to align lessons with school standards and curricula.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Ensure a smooth transition for students during the long-term substitute period.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field required.
  • Teaching experience preferred, especially with PreK-8th grade students.
  • Proficiency in Spanish with strong speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all ages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
