Overview

St. Luke’s Health System is seeking a Tumor Registrar to join our team.


Must be located in Idaho or Oregon.


Unit/Position Summary

The Tumor Registrar (CTR) collects, analyzes, and reports on cancer data, providing essential information to researchers, healthcare providers, and public health officials.


Responsibilities

  • Collects, analyzes, and maintains case ascertainment from all system centers and physician clinics.
  • Determines patient cancer case eligibility through extensive examination of electronic medical records.
  • Conducts quality assurance audits to ensure data collection complies with Federal and/or State government reporting mandates.
  • Abstracts eligible cancer cases into the cancer registry database including patient history and details relating to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
  • Assesses and abstracts `real time' data outlined by the reporting system performance measures established by the National Cancer Data Base.
  • Obtains, analyzes and implements required patient follow up information into the cancer registry's database. Reassesses and updates the abstract by noting any changes to the patient's demographics.
  • Creates, analyzes, reports and presents Cancer Registry data in the form of statistical reports, cancer studies and data requests delegated by physicians and/or administration.
  • Conducts and reviews abstract quality audits of required data elements as outlined by the data.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Education: Associates degree or experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience: 0 years relevant experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or Oncology Data Specialist (ODS)
