Job Title/Position: Activities Barn Supervisor


Reports To: Director of Village Services


This is a weekend heavy position (required availability Thursday - Sunday)


Job Summary/Essential Functions:

Plan, direct, coordinate, promote, execute and manage activities designed to enhance the overall enjoyment of the membership and their children. Design, develop, implement and direct programs and events for members, guests, and their children. Works closely with the Director of Village Services, Outdoor Adventures, Membership, Events, and Food and Beverage team to execute creative, fulfilling, captivating and safe events. Works with Director to ensure successful opening of new Activities Barn Facility including development of SOP’s and procurement of supplies. Once open ensures Activities Barn Facility is stocked and prepared for use daily by members and guests. Expands Activities programming to meet needs and wants of members as they evolve.


Job Duties:

  • Hires, trains, supervises, schedules and evaluates activities barn program staff as needed.
  • Plans, monitors and supervises activities.
  • Recruits, screens and trains staff.
  • Works with Director of Village Services to develop or enhance, implement and supervise activities programming.
  • Partner with the communication team to create a new and exciting Activities Barn calendar for the year.
  • Searches out and engages subject matter experts as subcontractors to lead special events and activities to supplement in house offerings.
  • Designs and utilizes designated space for youth.
  • Prepares weekly activity reports as required.
  • Participates in the development of program budget.
  • Prepares written and oral reports concerning program activities, objectives and effectiveness.
  • Prepares monthly financial reports relevant to the program; recommends corrective action strategies, if necessary, to help assure that budget goals are met.
  • Leads a variety of activities, designed to benefit and enrich program participants.
  • Provides quality service to all members and staff.
  • Completes payroll edits for staff.
  • Produces children’s communications for members, including the monthly children’s schedule.
  • Ensures that all promotional materials are current.
  • Interacts with other departments to promote youth programs.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned.


Preferred Experience/Core Competencies:

  • Experience teaching (classroom, art, physical education, children's programs) preferred.
  • Experience managing and developing activities programs.
  • Ability to exercise critical human relation skills in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with members, their children, guests, club staff, and management.
  • Ability to perform role in emergency situations.
  • CPR certification.
  • Experience in site development, working with contractors, and/or club programming.
  • Experience with Member Services or Kids Club at a private club.


Licenses and Special Requirements:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Continuous walking and standing.
  • Frequent lifting, pulling, bending, stooping and repetitive actions.
  • Ability to project voice and get attention of and cooperation from youngsters.
  • Occasionally must work outdoors in inclement weather.


Classification:

Full-Time/Year-Round/Exempt


Education/Experience:

Degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, Sociology, Hospitality Management, Art, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or Psychology preferred.
