Network Security Engineer

Boston, MA

This position will be focused on the technical engineering involved in in Data Protection technologies in a highly complex enterprise environment based in Boston, MA.


The Network team is looking to add a Network Deployment Engineer to our networking team. Your goal is to be one of the contributors to the global network team and participate in the implementation of the next-generation campus, data center, and cloud architecture based on software-defined networking. This is a tremendous opportunity to join a global organization and participate in the development of the next-generation network architecture. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of networking on campus design, data center fabrics, cloud deployments, WAN connectivity, and SD-WAN.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing changes in support of BAU requests and projects for network infrastructure based on defined standards
  • Implements changes according to our change management processes; engages in major incident, incident, and problem processes when caused by change
  • Ensuring Compliance of all Changes with engineering standards and working closely with network architecture and engineering teams
  • Participate in weekly change review meetings to review changes and under underlying impacts
  • Perform peer review of configurations scheduled for deployment
  • Implementation of the global SD-WAN deployment
  • Implement campus/branch network designs
  • Implement WAN connectivity to clients and partners based on defined standards
  • Perform network infrastructure changes in a diligent and professional manner
  • Troubleshoot internal and external customer issues related to changes
  • Testing of network connectivity post implementations
  • Ensure proper Closeout of project and move-to-production process is adhered to
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members when required


Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the following areas:
  • Routing and Switching (Cisco, Arista)
  • SDWAN
  • Firewalls
  • Packet decoding and analysis
  • Web Proxy Servers
  • Load Balancing
  • Remote Access Solutions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of TCP, IPv4/6, Routing Protocols, and related network services (DHCP, DNS)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent desired
  • 6 years experience in the network field
  • Certification in a major technology area preferred(CCNP or equivalent preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure when resolving complex issues with strict deadlines
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the team members and all levels of management.
