Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Multiple locations in Chicago, IL, and Waukegan, IL
Pay range: $22 -$23 per hour
Duration: 3 Months+
Shift: 8:30-5:30 Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday, 10-7 Wednesday

Summary:
Join our dynamic team as a Phlebotomist In this vital role, you'll be responsible for performing various assigned duties including blood draws, specimen handling, and workflow optimization. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient operation of our lab services.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform blood draws, label and handle specimens, and operate centrifuge machines.
Maintain and record data for specimen management and decontamination processes.
Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods to patients.
Demonstrate proficiency in using straight and butterfly needles.
Ensure accurate matching of laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes.
Prepare specimens for testing by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required.
Verify accuracy of test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.
Package and transport specimens in compliance with required procedures and temperatures.
Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations, and attend annual department trainings.
Handle phone inquiries and read laboratory results to provide information as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment (where required).
At least 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
High School Diploma or GED.
2-4 years of relevant experience.
Additional Requirements:
Required vaccinations: 2 doses of Varicella, 2 doses of Measles, T-DAP, COVID, TB, and Hep B (with the option to sign a declination form for Hep B).
