Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning:Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including configurations, processes, and service records.
  • Work closely with department leads to assess and plan for both immediate and long-term network capacity needs.
  • Create and enforce policies, procedures, and training programs for network management, usage, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Acquisition & Deployment:Design and implement customer LANs, WANs, fiber networks, Cellular Boost systems, Emergency Responder Coverage Enhancement Solutions (ERCES), Point-to-Multi-Point (P2MP) networks, and Wi-Fi infrastructures. This includes configuring servers, routers, switches, hubs, UPS systems, and related hardware.
  • Conduct on-site surveys for low voltage wiring, Wi-Fi installations, cellular networks, and fiber construction at various customer locations.
  • Be prepared to travel up to 50% of the time for project deployments.
  • Operational Management:Create detailed documentation for network designs, deployments, and customer acceptance processes.
  • Record all installations and updates made at customer locations to ensure proper tracking and transparency.
  • Oversee the management of network assets, including inventory and technical specifications.
  • Regularly monitor network performance, conducting tests and generating reports on key metrics.
  • Assist in the implementation and management of network security solutions.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidates will bring:A Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent military or technical school training.
  • Foundational knowledge of networking protocols and concepts.
  • Familiarity with RF technologies and concepts.
  • Proficiency with MS Visio and AutoCAD for network design and project documentation.
  • Strong skills in using Excel and Word for project reporting.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi technologies and standards.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A willingness to embrace and learn new technologies.
  • Certifications like CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator) are desirable.
  • Experience with tools such as Ekahau, iBwave, RanPlan, Cel-Fi, and DAS platforms is an advantage.
