LEARFIELD Amplify’ s development team is a local, dedicated entity representing the University. In complete collaboration with the University, this team is committed through first class professionalism to building top notch donor acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship extending the affinity of the University’s brand to fans, donors, alumni, businesses and corporations of all sizes looking to align with the undeniably loyal and passionate collegiate sports fan base.

The Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) property is seeking a Director of Development to create, develop and manage philanthropic and annual giving initiatives for the University Athletic Department, while also overseeing, facilitating & managing ticketing strategies to achieve or exceed annual sales goals.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, develop, and manage philanthropic and annual giving based initiatives to generate new business and revenue.
  • Oversee, facilitate, and manage revenue generating and ticketing strategies to meet or exceed annual sales goals
  • Develop relationships with new donors that could lead to Major Gifts to the SFA Athletic Department.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward prospect bases for annual fundraising campaign(s).
  • Heavy focus on philanthropic giving, prospecting for leads and setting appointments.
  • Provide support for special events, receptions and reunions designed to increase financial support for SFA Athletics.
  • Communicate with donors by phone, mail, and email as appropriate relating to privately supported funds.
  • Identify potential donors by examining past records; identifying individuals, agencies, and foundations; establishing personal networks with active and potential donors.
  • Network at various community and corporate events including entrepreneurial and business organizations, business after-hours, clinics, speaker series, etc.
  • Achieve and exceed weekly, monthly, and annual revenue goals established by management.
  • Provide superior customer service to clients throughout the year
  • Work closely with Stephen F. Austin State University, and athletic department leadership to develop new ideas and new strategies toward fundraising initiatives and campaigns for the SFA Athletic Department.
  • Provide weekly and monthly revenue reporting to SFA Athletics and LEARFIELD regional team.
  • Oversee and manage Ticket Sales Manager and other individual(s) on the team


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience working in sales or development with collegiate and/or pro sports team
  • Superior communication skills, collaborative with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics with strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in sales and building quality relationships
  • Strong desire to learn about our business and grow your professional career
  • Effectively express ideas verbally and in writing
  • Ability to take initiative and action on projections that may be beyond the scope of above responsibilities in the spirit of good partnership
  • Be able to generate original and imaginative solutions for new business opportunities
  • Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce.com, Microsoft CRM, etc.
