Job Title: Chemical Technician

Summary:

Performs a variety of laboratory tasks in support of chemical research and development activities. This role involves conducting experiments, analyzing data, and maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine laboratory experiments and tests according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Prepare and standardize chemical solutions and reagents.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including analytical instruments (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis spectrophotometer).
  • Collect, record, and analyze experimental data accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed laboratory records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and laboratory procedures.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of new analytical methods.
  • Perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks, such as cleaning glassware and maintaining equipment.
  • Assist senior chemists with research projects as needed.
  • May participate in the procurement of laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a chemical laboratory setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of basic chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Excellent data entry, analysis, and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
