Responsibilities and Authorities:


  • Actively coordinate production and procurement process to ensure on time arrival of all required parts to support shipment of products.
  • Prepare production plans and schedule parts to meet established and forecast delivery dates using manufacturing information systems.
  • Experience with ODOO or other advanced MRP/ERP is essential. Must understand, use, and maintain purchasing module in MRP system.
  • Issue Work Orders for Production and Repair assemblies.
  • Review POs for acceptable PPV; unfavorable PPV will be discussed with VP of Operations or his/her Delegate prior to order(s) being Placed.
  • Continuously review procurement costs and part availability and conduct negotiations when necessary.
  • Review Open POs with Vice President of Operations or his/her Delegate, weekly.
  • Follow up with suppliers on Open POs regularly to ensure on-time delivery. Delays may require supplier visits.
  • Update schedule when necessary. Inform Vice President of Operations or his/her Delegate of all late shipments immediately. Expedite when necessary. Keep Expedite Log.
  • Monitor manufacturing cycles and anticipated customer requirements, recommend combining jobs / PO’s and increasing quantities where indicated to affect economics.
  • Lead End of Life (EOL) part management and risk reduction through working with vendors and in-house Engineering team. Notify Engineering well in advance of any potential EOL parts and develop game plan to reduce production risks. Manage EOL database.
  • Issue DMRs and participate in Materials Review Board (MRB).
  • Select new suppliers, Maintain Approved Supplier List, and manage supplier surveys.
  • Review old POs and old jobs periodically and clean up system as needed to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Build routings for all new or changed products. Roll standard costs for new or changed routings.
  • Manage production team cycle counts and make inventory adjustments where required.
  • Maintain Supplier Performance KPI.
  • Engineering prototype components: order Engineering prototypes using MRP system. Communicate with engineering any issues that can hamper part ordering. Expedite part delivery as needed.
  • Coordinate/facilitate company annual physical inventory working closely with Director of Operations or his/her delegate and CFO or his/her Delegate.
  • As primary Supplier liaison, Submit RFQs.
  • Assist Director of Quality or his/her delegate with part conformance issues. Generate CARs.
  • Initiate Supplies Purchase Part Forms.
  • Review documents and sign off on all new inventory parts (Purchase Part Form).
  • Other duties as assigned.
