Olivia is working with a family-run distribution company located in Syracuse, NY, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance its network infrastructure. The role involves maintaining and developing systems to ensure seamless operations, with the engineer reporting to the Infrastructure Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain, and replace network hardware (switches, routers, etc.)
  • Manage and configure wireless networks and access points
  • Handle Windows updates and assist with Exchange Management console
  • Maintain system backups
  • Manage file share permissions and network file share servers
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and execution
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/system-related issues
  • Proactively manage and maintain multiple systems to ensure performance and availability
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the company’s security posture
  • Work independently on assignments requiring judgment and initiative
  • Mentor other team members
  • Provide first and second-level support to users
  • Offer off-hours support on a rotating basis as needed

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and industry-standard tools
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Proficiency with Exchange (both 365 and On-Prem) and Office 365 products
  • Experience with Layer 3 network switching
  • Proficiency in configuring routers, IPSec Tunnels, and VPN
  • Experience with Microsoft Server configuration and maintenance
  • Proficiency in Windows desktop imaging, configuration, and support
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Team player with an emphasis on knowledge sharing and learning

Education and Experience

  • Cybersecurity-related certifications (highly desirable)
  • Network+, CCNA or equivalent certifications
  • Programming experience in PowerShell or C#
  • Proficiency with Office 365
  • Experience with MSSQL
  • Experience with virtual server configuration using Hyper-V
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and connectivity
  • Experience with phone system configuration and maintenance
