Production Manager - Windsor Locks, CT (Base salary $100-115k)
A global, market leading manufacturing company is looking for a skilled Production Manager to join their team in Windsor Locks, CT. The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing manufacturing activities to ensure safety, regulatory and scheduled compliance; cost containment, training, and employee development.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in production management to make a significant impact in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee production team leaders, operators, and external resources who are responsible for operations activities within the manufacturing unit.
- Collaborate with functional and operational area managers to understand business needs and develops plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing operations activities (e.g. Process, Maintenance, Quality Assurance and Quality control, Engineering and Supply Chain).
- Develop and implement schedules, procedures, product and site processes and allocates labor and capital resources to maximize productivity and ensure availability level.
- Responsible for performance improvement; safety, quality and environment; analyzing production, skill and competence development; maintenance and maintenance investments and inventory records to identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Contribute in prioritization, plans and manages operations processes (e.g. production, planning, delivery, inventory) to minimize disruptions to production schedules.
- Implement and ensure adherence to operations core principles and KPIs.
- Conduct/coordinate department meetings as planned or necessary.
- Ensure efficient and economical use of raw materials, inventories, labor and equipment though continuous improvement programs and processes.
- Maintain ISO, safety and environmental compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business, engineering, production management, or relevant field, Masters degree a plus.
- At least 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- 3+ years of experience leading production, planning, delivery, and inventory.
- Knowledge of operational process such as Maintenance, Quality Assurance and Quality Control, Engineering and Supply Chain.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel and Power Point
