JOB DESCRIPTION

Technology & Marketing Specialist that will lead the renewal and marketing process. Analyze

carrier products and client data to recommend suitable benefit plans and proposals. Identify,

design, and implement internal data process improvements. Cultivate strong relationships with

insurance carrier representatives. Accounts may be fully insured, partially self-funded, or selfinsured.


RESPONSIBILITIES

● Drive the renewal/marketing process through gathering vendor/client information,

auditing data, developing RFP, negotiating rates and benefits, preparing and analyzing

benchmark data, communicating trends to account management, and client proposals.

● Draft and release Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to the marketplace.

● Design, distribute, and evaluate responses to surveys and RFPs.

● Gather, save, & prepare marketing results.

● Conduct benchmarking studies and other research; provide value-added analyses and

summaries.

● Prepare spreadsheets that communicate plan analysis, designs, rates, total cost, funding

strategies, and claims experience in a professional format. Spreadsheets may be used in

client presentations.

● Together with Account Management, review quotes and obtain any additional

information needed, review coverages and discuss the appropriate option(s) to fit the

client’s requests, and generate accurate proposals.

● Participate in client plan strategy meetings, renewal meetings, book of business

reviews, and any other meeting supporting client service delivery.

● Weekly meetings with the EB team to discuss client renewals and objectives.

● Analyze and compare vendor products, services, and contracts.

● Cultivate strong relationships with insurance carrier representatives.

● Responsible for new client builds and ongoing data maintenance in technology

platforms.

● Identify technology process deficiencies, research solutions; and plan and coordinate

with Management for the remediation of these deficiencies.

● Identify, design, and implement internal data process improvements.

● Assist with client documentation processes and procedures to ensure efficient,

accurate, and quality services.

● Support team members with various tasks as needed.

● Continually improve knowledge and skill proficiencies through webinars and continuing

education.


SKILLS REQUIRED

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Assist the Account Manager to market and renew client book.

● Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.

● Knowledge of navigating carrier portals – BCBS, UHC, Delta Dental, etc.

● Knowledge of, and practical experience in, staple insurance products – Medical, Dental,

Optical, and Ancillary lines – LTD/STD, Life insurance, Accident, etc.

● Strong analytical, creative, and integrative skills.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

● College Degree Required.

● 3 years of insurance brokerage experience.

● Life/Health License required.
