System Test Support Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Configure and re-configure software test setups for Fiber Channel and Ethernet product lines as per instructions from remote software QA teams.
  • Perform setup configuration tasks including installing operating systems on servers, configuring network connections between servers, switches, and storage devices, and setting up smart power strips.
  • Execute both manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality and performance.
  • Collaborate with the shipping team or third-party vendors to coordinate the shipment of laboratory equipment to other locations as needed.
  • Assist with physical tasks such as lifting servers (up to 50 lbs) when moving equipment between racks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of computer networks and network configurations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and problem-solving attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Fibre Channel and Ethernet technologies.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and methodologies.
  • Prior experience in a similar role or in a system test environment.

Working Conditions:

  • This role may involve occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) when moving equipment.
  • The position may require flexibility in work hours to accommodate testing schedules or urgent project needs.
