Adult Outpatient Psychiatrist

A mental health organization is seeking a Adult Psychiatrist to join their Outpatient team in Utica. In this role, the Adult Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing services that include a comprehensive program of evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients over 21, whose primary diagnosis is a psychiatric disorder.

Responsibilities:

The Adult Psychiatrist will:

• Admit and discharge patients, including psychiatric examination, evaluation and assessment
• Facilitate group/family education and therapy
• Order suicide precautions
• Provide treatment of children and adolescents including individual, supportive, behavioral, cognitive and insight oriented therapy
• Order laboratory tests or diagnostic assessments, including consultation with medical specialty providers
• Perform first aid and medical triage, including initial physical examination on new admissions in the event a pediatrician is not on site
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Board-certified Adult Psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
• Valid license to practice medicine in New York State
• Valid National Provider Identification Number (NPI)
• Valid Federal Narcotics Number (DEA Number)
• Enrolled in CMS and remain an unconditional participating provider in the Medicare and Medicaid OPRA programs
• Must enroll in NYS Medicaid as a Billing Provider or an Ordering, Referring and Attending Prescriber
• Must enroll in NYS Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing/Prescription Monitoring Program (I-STOP/PMP)
