Lakes Region EMS is an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance service, with a rural service area just northeast of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. With bases in Rush City, North Branch, and Lindstrom in Minnesota, and St. Croix Falls and Milltown in Wisconsin, we cover a total area of approximately 650 square miles between the two states. In 2023, Lakes Region EMS responded to over 9,600 calls for service and treated more than 7,000 patients.


We take great pride in our ability to deliver Advanced Life Support (ALS) care to our community. Our ambulances are staffed with highly trained Paramedics and EMTs equipped to provide emergency treatment for traumatic injuries and sudden illnesses. With our advanced skills and equipment, we bring the capabilities of an Emergency Room directly to the patient. We also provide Critical Care services, offering an expanded scope of practice similar to that of a hospital ICU. This ensures our patients receive timely and advanced care, improving their chances of recovery and survival.


Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Paramedic at Lakes Region EMS. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support services to patients in emergency and critical care situations. Your day-to-day tasks will include assessing patient conditions, administering medications, performing advanced medical procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals and community partners to deliver high-quality care.


Qualifications

  • Current Paramedic certifications - national, MN, and WI are all required
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Experience in emergency medical services (EMS)
  • Knowledge of advanced life support (ALS) procedures and protocols
  • Proficiency in performing medical assessments and providing emergency medical treatments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under pressure
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry heavy loads
  • Experience working in a pre-hospital or hospital setting is a plus
