Supervisor- Millwright

Supervise shift personnel in the Rod Mill. Shift 2pm-10pm
- Complete shift reports and collect and record other reports.
- Troubleshoot problems.
- Communicate with crew concerning safety, quality and production issues.
- Coordinate with Lower Reform Foreman.
- Conduct any and all extra duties and tasks assigned by the General
Foreman.
- Work any of the three shifts, as assigned.
- Supervise approximately 13 union employees in the Rod Mill.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write
routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of
employees of the organization.
Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to
compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with
problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Abilities:
Assertive and goal oriented, self-starter with positive attitude. Must be organized
and capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities. Interface effectively with
other members of supervision, personnel from other departments and ISWA
personnel. Must be capable of supervising employees according to union rules
and regulations. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and
analytical skills.
Physical Abilities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to
stand and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use
hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance,
stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell. The employee is frequently
required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Special vision requirements include
close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and
ability to adjust focus.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years
rolling experience in rod or bar mill. Must be capable of using personal
computers and Microsoft software.
