Emissions Engineer

Actalent is seeking an experienced Emissions Engineer to join our team. A successful candidate will play a crucial role in emissions testing for large-scale vehicles within a research and development setting. This position involves supervising installations, commissioning, and maintenance, as well as executing regulatory testing and vehicle certification audits.

Hard Skills:

• PEMS Bench Systems (MUST HAVE): Installation, commissioning, maintenance, test operations, and data post-processing for Horiba, Semtech, and AVL PEMS Bench systems.Emissions Testing and Regulation: Proficiency in GHG17, GHG21, and CARB24 emissions testing and regulatory compliance.
• Diesel Powertrains: Experience with Class 6 - 8 diesel powertrains.
• Span Gas and Linearization Validation: Certification per 1065 protocols.
• Data Acquisition (DAQ) Systems: Integration and utilization of J1939 data resources (CANape preferred).
• AVL M.O.V.E PM PEMS, iS Gaseous, and FID Testing: Familiarity with AVL M.O.V.E PM PEMS, iS gaseous, and FID testing, as well as CONCERTO post-processing.

Soft Skills:

• Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external engineering teams, UAW, and Data Analytics teams.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to address complex challenges related to emissions testing and compliance.
• Travel: Willingness to travel up to 30% for work-related purposes.

Work Environment:

• The position is based onsite in Detroit, MI.
• Requires up to 30% travel, including post-winter and summer tests and customer audits
