About the role

We are seeking an experienced SEO Content Director with a strong background in SEO to lead our content strategy across all business units in the financial services sector. This role is integral to our marketing efforts, overseeing content creation, public relations, communications, and creative initiatives while ensuring our digital presence is optimized for search engines. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in SEO, content strategy, and multi-channel marketing who can elevate our brand visibility, engage target audiences, and drive business results.


Key Responsibilities:


Content Strategy & Editorial:


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with corporate objectives, tailored to each business unit.
  • Lead editorial planning by maintaining an editorial calendar and managing a team of writers and content creators to deliver high-quality financial content.
  • Implement SEO strategies to enhance content visibility and rankings within the financial sector, utilizing tools like Google Analytics and SEM Rush.
  • Oversee content for lifecycle marketing, ensuring it drives customer acquisition, conversion, and retention.


Public Relations:


  • Direct and manage PR activities, including media outreach, press releases, and maintaining relationships with key media contacts.
  • Act as a spokesperson when necessary, ensuring consistent and accurate messaging aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead content strategies for events, including industry conventions and symposiums, representing the company’s brands and messaging effectively.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to proactively identify PR opportunities.


Communications:

  • Ensure consistent and effective brand messaging across all communications channels, including email marketing, social media, and internal communications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (Sales, Product, Operations, Compliance) to develop messaging that resonates with target audiences and supports business initiatives.
  • Manage communication during crisis situations or sensitive issues, aligning with compliance and legal teams for accurate and compliant messaging.
  • Oversee content distribution to enhance customer and partner engagement, as well as retention and growth.


Creative Direction:

  • Lead creative initiatives, including the development of multimedia content such as video, graphics, infographics, and research reports.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and meets high-quality standards across print, digital, and multimedia platforms.
  • Coach and mentor creative team members in graphic design, content writing, and campaign development, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
  • Maintain quality control across all content and creative projects, managing timelines, priorities, and resources effectively.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in content strategy, editorial leadership, public relations, and creative direction, with a proven track record in the financial services sector.
  • Strong project management skills, with proficiency in tools like Asana or similar.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience crafting compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Deep understanding of SEO, content marketing, and analytics to inform strategy and measure success.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering collaboration and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with video production and knowledge of financial industry regulations.
  • Proficiency with creative software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Agency experience highly desired
