Company Overview:

A mid-market, private equity-backed manufacturing and distribution company in Connecticut is seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function through an exciting period of growth and transformation. The company is executing a buy-and-build strategy, scaling from $50M to $1bil in revenue, and preparing for a future PE exit.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Partner with the CEO, private equity sponsors, and leadership team to drive value creation.
  • Play a key role in shaping and executing the company's buy-and-build strategy.

Operational Finance:

  • Professionalize and scale the finance organization to support rapid growth.
  • Oversee financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Establish robust internal controls and processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of an ERP system to support scalability and integration across the business.

Debt Management:

  • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions, ensuring effective communication and compliance.
  • Oversee debt-related activities, including audits, inventory financing, and covenant management.
  • Ensure the company maintains a strong financial position to support growth initiatives.

M&A Execution:

  • Lead all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including valuation, due diligence, and integration.
  • Drive synergies and ensure smooth operational alignment post-acquisition.

Private Equity Exit Preparation:

  • Partner with stakeholders to position the company for a successful exit.
  • Develop and implement key financial metrics and reporting structures for investor readiness.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive in a private equity-backed company, in manufacturing.
  • Strong track record of executing buy-and-build strategies and driving growth through M&A.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale businesses from $50M to $500M+ in revenue.
  • Experience professionalizing finance teams and implementing best-in-class financial processes.
  • Experience building out the back-office functions at scale.
  • Hands-on involvement in preparing for and executing successful PE exits.
